We will start by making a toile (practice garment).  From then we will fit the garment to your figure and make adjustments to the pattern.  The following days will be spent cutting the beautiful tweed (possible pattern matching!), quilting, fitting a sleeve, adding pockets, fringing (optional), gimp braiding (optional) and using hidden techniques to make this a truly beautiful addition to your wardrobe.

Course inclusions: Exclusive Sewing with Style French Couture Jacket Pattern (not available for general sale), high quality interfacing for the full jacket, specialist tuition in French Couture Techniques.  Free use of a Bernina sewing machine (or you can bring your own machine)

Thursday's - 4 week series

4 March with the final course being on the 25 March.

9.00 - 12.30pm

This 4 week course is to master a dress block, then to make your choice of sleeve that is just your style.  Alternatively, you can make any dress of your choice.

Our sew along is the Assembly Line Multi Sleeve Midi Dress.

This midi dress sewing pattern features a classic silhouette, a round neckline, a concealed back zip, and inseam pockets. The magic happens when you choose your preferred sleeve style. The pattern includes a basic long sleeve, a puffed long sleeve with button cuffs, a 3/4-length box-pleat sleeve with a cuff, as well as a sleeveless option.

The use of top of the range overlockers are included, plus the use of cutting tables and irons.  There is a fully stocked haberdashery at the Quilting Bee downstairs, therefore any forgotten bits can be purchased at class.

Tea, coffee plus a treat is included.

Sewing Club is new at Sewing with Style where you're able to gain assistance on the following:

• Fitting a pattern
• Technical elements of sewing - such as zip, buttonholes, adding a waistband
• Using your sewing machine 
• Having a go and mastering an overlocker

You will also meet other like minded individuals to share your projects, 

The course is booked for 4 week blocks include the following:

This 4 week course is to master shirt making.  You can make any shirt of your choice.

Our sew along is the Ready to Sew Hortense Blouse -it embodies the relaxed charm of men's shirts, reimagined into a modern and feminine piece. With its fluid drape and loose fit, it seamlessly blends masculine and feminine elements, featuring a subtle wrap neckline. The wrist opening, easier to sew than a traditional cuff placket, adds a practical yet contemporary touch. This inclusive pattern ranges from sizes 0 to 32 and is available in multiple cup sizes: Range 1 (A/B and C/D) and Range 2 (C/D and E/F). Hortense is a versatile, stylish shirt full of character.
