Make the classic quilted couture bag at the home of North Wales Couture - Sewing with Style!

This brand new course offers you all the materials*, tools, exclusive pattern and instructions to make this classic French Bag. And no fitting required!

You can choose between the Marilyn (the silver version) or the smaller Audrey

• The bag can be made on a regular domestic sewing machine (zipper foot is essential)
• Dimensions:
• Marilyn 25cm length, 19 height & 6 side width
• Audrey 30cm length, 21 height & 10 side width
• Length of strap - 115cm full length or 60cm as a double strap

Course includes all hardware , interfacing materials and instructions which you can take home with you.

What you need to bring: your own sewing machine (we do have a small number that can be hired at a nominal fee), 0.5m of light to mid weight tweed, 0.25m of lining, sewing kit.

The Sunshine Jeans sewing pattern from I AM Patterns. 'I am Sunshine', either a tapered leg or slouchy pair of jeans. The pattern has all the details of classic jeans: Italian pockets, a coin pocket, back patch pockets, rivets, a fly front, a waistband with belt loops and contrast topstitching.

Alternative is the Barrel Legged Jeans.

The use of top of the range overlockers are included, plus the use of cutting tables and irons.  There is a fully stocked haberdashery at the Quilting Bee downstairs, therefore any forgotten bits can be purchased at class.

The Laken Jacket has a modern, boxy fit with dropped sleeves and a zipper fastening. The pattern includes a spacious, three-piece drawstring hood and two pocket options. View A features large patch pockets with flaps and snap fastener closures, along with integrated hand warmers. View B has a two-piece front that neatly conceals the interior construction of its angled welt pockets. The jacket is unlined but impeccably finished, creating a casual yet refined piece that will be an invaluable addition to any wardrobe. 

Alternative Sew Along: The Assembly Line V Neck coat.  A lapelless coat sewing pattern with minimalist, clean lines. Features a stand-up collar, v-neck opening with three buttons mid front and side seam pockets. You can wear it with or without the belt.The pattern includes both a lined and an unlined version.

This Assembly Line coat is beginner friendly, HOWEVER we can test the more experienced sewist by adding welt pockets and bound buttonholes.

The French Style jacket is a wardrobe staple.  The deceptively simple shape hides a multitude of couture techniques.  Come and join us to make this classic at Sewing with Style.  Lose yourself in the hand sewing techniques honed in the ateliers in Paris.

We will start by making a toile (practice garment).  From then we will fit the garment to your figure and make adjustments to the pattern.  The following days will be spent cutting the beautiful tweed (possible pattern matching!), quilting, fitting a sleeve, adding pockets, fringing (optional), gimp braiding (optional) and using hidden techniques to make this a truly beautiful addition to your wardrobe.

Course inclusions: Exclusive Sewing with Style French Couture Jacket Pattern (not available for general sale), high quality interfacing for the full jacket, specialist tuition in French Couture Techniques.
