The Laken Jacket has a modern, boxy fit with dropped sleeves and a zipper fastening. The pattern includes a spacious, three-piece drawstring hood and two pocket options. View A features large patch pockets with flaps and snap fastener closures, along with integrated hand warmers. View B has a two-piece front that neatly conceals the interior construction of its angled welt pockets. The jacket is unlined but impeccably finished, creating a casual yet refined piece that will be an invaluable addition to any wardrobe. 

Alternative Sew Along: The Assembly Line V Neck coat.  A lapelless coat sewing pattern with minimalist, clean lines. Features a stand-up collar, v-neck opening with three buttons mid front and side seam pockets. You can wear it with or without the belt.  The pattern includes both a lined and an unlined version.

This Assembly Line coat is beginner friendly, HOWEVER we can test the more experienced sewist by adding welt pockets and bound buttonholes.

The use of top of the range overlockers are included, plus the use of cutting tables and irons.  There is a fully stocked haberdashery at the Quilting Bee downstairs, therefore any forgotten bits can be purchased at class.

Join us to make a pair tailored trousers or the more casual cargo pants.  Learning points: fitting trousers, fly front seam, waistband, welt back pockets.

Session timings are from 09:00 - 16:30hrs on both days

The use of top of the range overlockers from Janome and Jukki are included, plus the use of cutting tables and irons.  There is a fully stocked haberdashery at the Quilting Bee downstairs, therefore any forgotten bits can be purchased at class.

The French Style jacket is a wardrobe staple.  The deceptively simple shape hides a multitude of couture techniques.  Come and join us to make this classic at Sewing with Style.  Lose yourself in the hand sewing techniques honed in the ateliers in Paris.

We will start by making a toile (practice garment).  From then we will fit the garment to your figure and make adjustments to the pattern.  The following days will be spent cutting the beautiful tweed (possible pattern matching!), quilting, fitting a sleeve, adding pockets, fringing (optional), gimp braiding (optional) and using hidden techniques to make this a truly beautiful addition to your wardrobe.

Course inclusions: Exclusive Sewing with Style French Couture Jacket Pattern (not available for general sale), high quality interfacing for the full jacket, specialist tuition in French Couture Techniques.

Location: Sewing with Style Studio, an airy studio based above the popular Quilting and Haberdashery shop in Craig y Don, Llandudno.

Course Suitability: beginner

Location: Sewing with Style Studio, The Quilting Bee, Craig y Don, Llandudno

• You will start by choosing your fabrics for both designs. 
• Practicalities: Threading your machine, cutting your bag and vest top.
• We will then practice straight stitching before we get stuck in!
• Make a stylish origami knot bag and learn how to sew around a curve, insert a lining and decorate by using origami pleating techniques
• In the afternoon, we will make this cotton vest top where you will learn how to fit your pattern, add facings and top stitch.

At the end of the day, you will have two items that you can show off with pride!

Course includes all materials and instructions which you can take home with you.

Please bring your own sewing machine, or if you prefer, we can loan you a machine for a small sum.

This 4 week course is designed to help you get confident with sewing with stretch and jersey fabric.  You can make any stretch garments your choice.

We have two sew along choices: the True Bias Marlo (blue cardigan below) or the Allie and Olson Hive Pullover (in green stretch suede). Or you can make a garment of your choice - but keep it cosy!

Cosy plaid (remember to make the ribbing in stretch) or make fully in stretch. The choice is yours!

This 4 week course is to complete the Style Arc Erin Culottes.

The Erin Woven Culotte sewing pattern features a fitted waistband that sits at the low waist, with angled front pleats that flow into the slant pockets to create an eye-catching design detail. Sewing Retreat – Nant Gwrtheyrn Language Centre, Llŷn Peninsula

The perfect opportunity to slow down, relax, and enjoy some peaceful, creative sewing time.

This retreat is ideal for anyone who can already sew and would love to take on a more challenging pattern or project – with friendly guidance and support available throughout.

The sewing time is from 1pm (after lunch)  on Friday, all day Saturday and until 12pm on Sunday.  Formal tuition time ends at 5pm on Friday and Saturday.  You will have access to the room should you want to extend your sewing time.

Your stay includes two nights of comfortable accommodation, all meals, all set in the magical surroundings of the Llŷn Peninsula coastline.
