Wednesday - 5 week series

The Laken Jacket has a modern, boxy fit with dropped sleeves and a zipper fastening. The pattern includes a spacious, three-piece drawstring hood and two pocket options. View A features large patch pockets with flaps and snap fastener closures, along with integrated hand warmers. View B has a two-piece front that neatly conceals the interior construction of its angled welt pockets. The jacket is unlined but impeccably finished, creating a casual yet refined piece that will be an invaluable addition to any wardrobe.
Alternative Sew Along: The Assembly Line V Neck coat. A lapelless coat sewing pattern with minimalist, clean lines. Features a stand-up collar, v-neck opening with three buttons mid front and side seam pockets. You can wear it with or without the belt.The pattern includes both a lined and an unlined version.
This Assembly Line coat is beginner friendly, HOWEVER we can test the more experienced sewist by adding welt pockets and bound buttonholes.

Come and join us to make some Christmassy Nightwear!
The course lasts for 4 weeks and starts from the 11 November and ends on the 2 December.
Session timings are from 18:00 - 20:30hrs
Make a cosy dressing gown or pjs. If you prefer to make a fancy Christmas top instead, this is also an option. So go cosy or glam for Christmas!

Cosy Series January 2027
Thursday's - 4 week series
7 January with the final course being on the 28 January.
9.00 - 12.30pm
This 4 week course is designed to help you get confident with sewing with stretch and jersey fabric. You can make any stretch garments your choice.
We have two sew along choices: the True Bias Marlo (blue cardigan below) or the Allie and Olson Hive Pullover (in green stretch suede). Or you can make a garment of your choice - but keep it cosy!
Cosy plaid (remember to make the ribbing in stretch) or make fully in stretch. The choice is yours!

This 4 week course is to master shirt making. You can make any shirt of your choice.

This 4 week course is to master a dress block, then to make your choice of sleeve that is just your style. Alternatively, you can make any dress of your choice.
Our sew along is the Assembly Line Multi Sleeve Midi Dress.
This midi dress sewing pattern features a classic silhouette, a round neckline, a concealed back zip, and inseam pockets. The magic happens when you choose your preferred sleeve style. The pattern includes a basic long sleeve, a puffed long sleeve with button cuffs, a 3/4-length box-pleat sleeve with a cuff, as well as a sleeveless option.

Summer Shirt or Dress May 2027

13 May with the final course being on the 10 June.

This 4 week course is to complete the Avid Seamstress Studio Shirt or Dress.
Two styles, one pattern. Make it an effortlessly relaxed shirt dress or a contemporary everyday shirt.
The Studio Shirt & Dress is designed with a statement collar, dropped shoulders and cuffed sleeves, creating a relaxed silhouette that feels modern, stylish and wonderfully easy to wear.
Make the Dress
Wear the dress loose for an easy, flowing silhouette or add the optional tie belt for a completely different look. Gently blouson the top over the belt to create shape and definition at the waist.
Choose between a softly curved or straight hem, with practical in-seam pockets included in the dress version.
Or Make the Shirt
Use the shirt pattern lines on the pattern sheet to create a relaxed contemporary shirt that looks just as good worn loose as it does tucked into trousers or skirts, or layered over other pieces.

This 4 week course is to complete the Style Arc Erin Culottes.

Upcycling and UFO Sustainable Fashion Month September 2027

9 September to the 7 October (no class on 23 September)
9.00 - 12.30pm
This 4 week course is to encourage us to finish off projects that are not being worn for a variety of reason:
- You're not keen on the fit - they need expanding or making smaller
- Adjust the collar or sleeves
- Make into something else
- Struggled with a technical element so didn't complete.
A part of this course will be to upcycle some mens shirts - take a look at the examples that we can make!
