Sewing Retreat – Nant Gwrtheyrn Language Centre, Llŷn Peninsula

The perfect opportunity to slow down, relax, and enjoy some peaceful, creative sewing time.

This retreat is ideal for anyone who can already sew and would love to take on a more challenging pattern or project – with friendly guidance and support available throughout.

Your stay includes two nights of comfortable accommodation and all meals, all set in the magical surroundings of the Llŷn Peninsula coastline.

What will I need?

You should feel confident using a sewing machine independently. Everyone is free to work on any project they choose – we won’t be completing a group project.

Please bring your chosen pattern and all the materials you’ll need. You’re welcome to bring your own machine, but we can lend you one if required.

CANCELLATION TERMS:

14 Days before the course: 50% refund minus £5 admin fee

Please note that we cannot offer refunds for any booking cancelled less than 14 days from the course start date.

The Ines 'Shacket' is a hip length, button-through shirt/jacket with a slightly flared silhouette and faced hem.  It features a 'floating' patch pocket, convertible collar, back yoke and centre box pleat.  The bracelet length sleeves have a deep hem with a small slit and can be worn up or down.

The use of top of the range overlockers are included, plus the use of cutting tables and irons.  There is a fully stocked haberdashery at the Quilting Bee downstairs, therefore any forgotten bits can be purchased at class.

Tea, coffee plus a treat is included.

The French Style jacket is a wardrobe staple.  The deceptively simple shape hides a multitude of couture techniques.  Come and join us to make this classic at Sewing with Style.  Lose yourself in the hand sewing techniques honed in the ateliers in Paris.

We will start by making a toile (practice garment).  From then we will fit the garment to your figure and make adjustments to the pattern.  The following days will be spent cutting the beautiful tweed (possible pattern matching!), quilting, fitting a sleeve, adding pockets, fringing (optional), gimp braiding (optional) and using hidden techniques to make this a truly beautiful addition to your wardrobe.

Course inclusions: Exclusive Sewing with Style French Couture Jacket Pattern (not available for general sale), high quality interfacing for the full jacket, specialist tuition in French Couture Techniques.

Location: Sewing with Style Studio, an airy studio based above the popular Quilting and Haberdashery shop in Craig y Don, Llandudno.

What you need to bring: your own sewing machine (we do have a small number that can be hired at a nominal fee), your fabric, sewing kit.
